November 2025 Newsletter “To Serve”

Even our Lord Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve. Mark 10:45

November was an amazing month with many opportunities to reach out and serve others!

Our supporters responded with many bags of clothing, shoes, and financial support.

Our volunteers separated, sorted, and folded hundreds of articles of clothing and shoes.

A wonderful group of twenty five assembled and filled bags.

WANDA age 53.

We first met Wanda two years ago wandering on Main Street, two blocks from FCC Duncanville. Wanda looked like she was in distress, so I asked if she needed help. She quickly replied yes. I brought her to the church where we fed her, while I called the Regional Care Team. While the regional care team was enroute, we gathered clothing, food, and personal care supplies. The Care Team arrived, interviewed her, and was able to find a shelter for her in Dallas where she could receive care.

Fast forward to November 7th, when I received a call from a lady at Methodist Hospital Richardson. Wanda had remembered Bob’s Bags helping her in the past, and asked someone to reach out to us.

Wanda had been back on the streets for the past two years, and recently been attacked, and now in the hospital. She was due to be released on, the following Monday, and be taken to a group home in Cedar Hill.

Wanda arrived at the group home with the clothes she had on, and not much else. She gave me her sizes over the phone, and the next morning I brought her several changes of clothes, and two pair of shoes. I added personal hygiene items, coat, loungewear, and a couple days of food. The following day I dropped off food from the grocery store to supply her needs for the coming week.

Wanda was due to receive Social Security, and other benefits, in November and confident this would allow her to finally have a better life. I pray she does.

With cold weather on the way, we made a special trip to share socks, hats, gloves, blankets, sleeping bags, and rain ponchos to 36 needy folks.

Thankful for cold weather items.
